Measuring Temperature, Torque, Speed, and Position of a Rotating Body with a Slip Ring

- Slip rings are used to measure temperature, torque, speed, and position of rotating parts in detail while supplying power to the driving parts and heat sources on the rotating parts.

- Slip rings are required to be compact, lightweight, multi-pole, long-life, high quality, and capable of a wide range of rotational speeds from low to high.

- The factory can also create a set value table by setting the instrument's set values to match the sensor or amplifier output.

Measurement of internal temperature and rotation speed of agitator tanks

What is a slip ring?
A slip ring is a rotary connector that can transmit power or electrical signals to a rotating object.
It rotates while the metal brush on the fixed side and the metal ring on the rotating side keep in contact with each other.

Hollow type Shaft-end type

Encoder built-in type is also available,
Installation space can be made more compact.

Advantages of Slip Ring
- No kinks in cables or lead wires, no tangling on the shaft, and no wire breakage
- Uninterrupted power transmission and communication.
- A combination of poles can be selected for signal, power, control, and other applications.

Without slip rings... (lead wires only)
Wires between the rotating side and the stationary side become entangled in the shaft, causing rotation to stop and wires to break.
With slip rings...
By using a slip ring between the rotating side and the fixed side, power and signals can be transmitted without wires getting tangled.

What measurement can do
- Multi-pole slip rings and a wide variety of measuring instruments allow you to simultaneously and precisely monitor various conditions on rotating objects.
- Noise-resistant pulse signals can be transmitted over long distances, enabling high-precision measurement even when the measurement target is far away from the measurement device.
- The measurement signal is amplified by a thermocouple amplifier for rotating objects, avoiding temperature measurement errors and reducing noise effects.
- Display and measurement with analog and digital outputs with fast update time.
- CAN communication automatically outputs measurement data at each update time, reducing program development costs (depending on model).
Measurement data is acquired by command response method except for CAN communication.
- The EXL series of measuring instruments (output update from 40 ms) starts at 14100 yen*  *2451 type (without display, DIN rail mounting) for voltmeters, etc.
