Measurement and management of CCCV charging current of lithium-ion battery and charger

- Lithium-ion batteries are charged using the constant-current, constant-voltage (CCCV) method, which manages voltage and current.
In CCCV charging, when the cell voltage is low, the current is constant. When the cell voltage reaches 4.2V,
the charge becomes a constant voltage charge, and the amount of current is reduced so that it does not exceed 4.2V.

- Lithium batteries require highly accurate control of charging voltage and charging current.
The PSA-series has an extremely small input resistance of approximately 40 mΩ (±5 A type and ±2 A type), enabling highly accurate measurements.

- Since measurement is made with a very small shunt resistance, voltage drop is small.
  It can be used for current measurement of low-voltage devices and evaluation of battery and battery charge/discharge characteristics.

Overview

■Lithium-ion batteries require high-precision management of both charging voltage and current due to the characteristics of lithium.
The PSA Series current meters feature an extremely low input resistance of approximately 40 mΩ (for ±10A, ±5A, and ±2A types), enabling high-precision measurement.

■Due to its extremely low shunt resistance, voltage drop is minimal, making it suitable for measuring current in low-voltage equipment and evaluating the charging and discharging characteristics of batteries.

■Lithium-ion batteries require high-precision, real-time management of case temperature and strain, which expand due to heat.
The ST Series strain/pressure gauges allow selection of excitation voltage (2.5V/5V/10V/other voltages) and bridge resistance (120Ω/350Ω, etc.).
The HT-T Series thermistor temperature gauges enable measurement with high conversion accuracy (within ±0.05% of reading @ 0 to 150℃) using a proprietary B2 constant logarithmic approximation calculation.

- CAN 1ms update and 16bit analog 1ms update can be output simultaneously (option)

- Setting and logging are possible through the ammeter's USB Type-C connector using COCORESEARCH's measurement management software LINKSHIP (free download).

Monitoring CAN data such as temperature, strain, and voltage; shutoff during overheating or overvoltage

■Verify CAN data parameters like battery and inverter temperature, strain, and voltage using a CAN converter

■Shutoff during abnormalities is also possible with a CAN data detector
